6AS explore Evolution
Year 6 has been learning about evolution over the past few weeks. Molly brought in her own fossil to show the class, and many of the class shared stories about their fossil hunting adventures in Dorset!
This week, 6AS have learned about the Galapagos tortoises and how they ended up living on this volcanic island. The class now know why there are different species on the islands and how their bodies have evolved, over a long period of time, to adapt to their environment.
Funnily enough, the BBC have begun a programme on Galapagos discussing how the inhabitants have to constantly adapt to their environment to stay alive…it is definitively worth watching.
