PGL comes to an end

Waking up was a real struggle on our last day and for some children, packing their bags to go home wasn't an easy task either!  The magic "packing fairies" that seemingly lived in all of their houses had, unfortunately, not come away with us and the staff were quite amazed at how long it took some children to put a few items of clothing in one bag! Finally, we were all ready to go off and do our last 2 activities. Each group had the chance to do their last two activities and finally experience what some children had done on Day 1.  After our two activites, the sun finally came out and we went to meet Shannon, our instructor, down at 'Little Wembley' where we enjoyed playing a game of football for a short while until the sand was too much of a

temptation and so sandcastle building and sand angels became the order of the day!

Then it was time for our final lunch before loading our bags onto the coach and heading off home.  Lunch ended with a surprise for the Birthday Girl as we all sang 'Happy Birthday' as loudly as we could! On the way home, each child received their PGL Certificate, which came with an alternative award from the staff ranging from 'Screamer of the week' to 'Spider Girl of the week' to 'Iron Man of the week'.  We laughed, again, and took time to celebrate all of our achievements.

Shannon had already said that we were the best group she had every had and the Somerford Staff couldn't agree more.  It has been an absolute pleasure to take the children on the trip and we have all enjoyed spending time with them, helping them to create precious memories.  Well done Year 6, you did the school, your parents and (more importantly) yourselves proud.
