RLC visit Blashford Lakes

Class RLC went to Blashford Lakes on Thursday 9th June.

We had an amazing day and learned lots of new skills including ‘Pond Dipping.

We all had a net each and had to sit very carefully on decking around a big pond.

We used our nets in ‘Swooshing’ motions and then collected our findings in shallow trays of water. Some of us managed to catch some big beetles and Dragonfly larvae. We then studied them under microscopes and in tanks. When we had finished it was very important for us to return all the creatures safely back into the pond.

We also went on to walking through rivers and sitting quietly in a beautiful meadow.

Many thanks to the kind parents who helped make this trip and enjoyable one!
